Selina Miles is an Australian Director with a global reputation, having worked in over 20 countries across the world. In 2019, Selina made her feature debut with Martha: A Picture Story, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film received critical acclaim and won numerous awards, including the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival and Best Documentary Director at the ATOM Awards.
Bio
Selina Miles’s second feature film, Harley & Katya, was produced by the BAFTA award-winning production company Stranger than Fiction Films. The film premiered on ABC in 2022 and became the highest-rated feature film on iView for the year. In 2023, Harley & Katya won the International Emmy for Best Sports Documentary.
Selina’s commercial directing career began in 2016 with the viral hyperlapse video Limitless, which garnered 12 million views on YouTube. Since then, she has collaborated with leading brands such as Volkswagen, Camilla and Marc, Heaps Normal, Captain Morgan, Kia, ALDI, Carefree, JD Sports, Pepsi, Red Bull, and Ubisoft.
Her work includes award-winning music videos for artists like Barkaa, The Hilltop Hoods, and UK pop star Anne Marie. Her dedication to social justice was recognized with a Glass Spike for Change Award for Carefree’s “Meet The Matriarchs” campaign. In 2022, FBI Radio named her music video Barkaa: Blak Matriarch as Music Video of the Year. In 2023, Selina volunteered in Uganda, documenting the work of the nonprofit organization Operation International. The resulting short film, titled Saving Face, premiered at Sydney’s Flickerfest short film festival.
